Campaign Update

By Jason Growe | Posted May 30, 2008 at 07:09 AM in

Dear Friends,

The campaign is now in full swing.  Despite the recent rainy days, my staff and I are working hard to reach every voter in this district.  Several developments have occurred in the campaign, and I wanted to keep you all updated.

Our grassroots operation continues to grow.  We now have seven full-time organizers with the campaign.  These young people will be out in the district six days a week knocking on doors to spread the campaign’s message.  I have said from the beginning that it is important to connect with as many voters as possible.  Our organizers will help make that happen.  If you would like to join us, please go here.  If canvassing is not your thing, that’s okay.  We would gladly accept your support in any number of ways.  Check out the website to view all of the different ways you can help.

Fortunately, our endorsement list continues to grow.  Since my last email, we have added two more locally elected officials and a handful of labor organizations.  Last month, both the current and former Richmond Heights Mayors endorsed my candidacy – Jim Beck and Betty Humphrey.  Their support is due to my hard work and dedication to the voters of Richmond Heights. I have also been honored with the endorsements of the North County and South County Labor Clubs.  These organizations represent the unified labor voice in their respective areas.  Winning their endorsement sends a strong message to the people of this district that I will fight for working class citizens in Jefferson City.  In addition to the two labor clubs, I have received endorsements from the United Auto Workers and the Communication Workers of America’s Local 6310 and 6320.  Again, it is a true honor to receive such strong backing from labor.  I look forward to promoting working-class issues as State Representative.

Finally, I want to personally invite you to the Steve Brown Family BBQ.  On Sunday, June 8 from 12:00 – 4:00pm at Deer Creek Park (3238 Laclede Station Road), join my family and I for food, music, and fun!  We will be have a bike giveaway, free ice cream, and complimentary bicycle and helmet checks, as well as goody bags, games, a fire engine, and face painting.  For more information, click here (link to event description on website).  I look forward to seeing you out on the 8th!

Thank you again for your support along the way.  As we head into the final two months of the campaign, it will be supporters like you that keep me going.  Please stay in touch.

Sincerely,

Steve Brown
