Dear Friends,
Happy New Year to you all!
As many of you know, I am running to become the next state representative for Missouri’s 73rd District. As this year is getting started, our campaign is ratcheting up and I wanted to take a moment to share with you the latest news from the campaign trail.
The latest fundraising quarter went very well for us. In our first full quarter, we raised about $55,000 and will have about $75,000 on hand. I am proud to have people throughout the 73rd district and St. Louis region contribute to my campaign. These resources will help immensely as we reach out to voters and address the concerns of our district and state.
I have also picked up some key endorsements recently. I will be officially announcing one of them next week. For now, I am proud to report that the President of the St. Louis County Council, Michael O’Mara, has backed my candidacy. With the support of Councilman O’Mara and others in St. Louis County government, I am all the more excited by the prospect of working for the people of the County and our district in Jefferson City.
Our grassroots campaign is picking up steam, too. We are adding staffers and organizers with the kind of grassroots campaign experience that will allow us to speak to and hear from all corners of the district. I have already been out knocking on doors over the past couple of months to ensure that the needs of people in this district are heard and addressed. And even though the election is still months away, people are eager to share their concerns for our state. They are tired of the Republicans’ failed leadership and lack of integrity, and ready for real, common-sense change. I am looking forward to leading that change in Jefferson City.
All in all, things are going well in this new year and we feel very grateful. We look forward to your support and wish you every success in 2008.
Keep in touch and we’ll do the same.
Yours,
Steve Brown
